Carmel, California Ranch Maternity Shoot // Pat and Mallory
Mallory and Pat asked me to take their first pictures as a family of 3, what an honor! They invited me to the most beautiful ranch in Salinas featuring roaming horses, ocean views, and miles and miles of a deserted road. I could have photographed them for hours! Towards the end of our session, Mallory was commenting on how excited the baby was, kicking and moving a ton getting to photograph genuine emotion will always be my favorite. Being a photographer in Monterey I feel so lucky to have such a plethora of gorgeous shot locations, but this spot goes down in the books as one of my favorites.
In other news, the wedding season is beginning! I'm cutting down on other sessions until April as I hope to dedicate most of my time to editing and photographing couples over the next several months. As always I'm behind with updating my blogs but I've been a mix of visiting wedding venues with my 2018 brides, editing the last of my family sessions from January, and spending time with my family surfing.
If you’re wondering what to do for your engagement photos—you’re not alone.
Most couples come in saying:
“We want something natural… but we have no idea where to start.”
The truth is, the best engagement sessions aren’t built around poses.
They’re built around experiences.
At Flora Gibson Photography, I approach engagement sessions like a quiet story unfolding—something you step into, not perform.
Here are ideas that will help your photos feel like you.
