I’m Flora and I'm a California native who loves to travel and chase the light in Big Sur. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and I'm a registered nurse. When I'm not taking photos or chasing my kids, I'm usually behind a good book. I'm married to my life long sweetheart and I have a seven year old daughter and a two year old son who are my world. We love to travel to the mountains, rivers and beaches. I’m an avid lover of Pendelton and cheap sunglasses.
Photography has been a passion since I learned how to develop film in high school. I love to ski, snowboard, hike, kayak and explore new locations. I collect plants and love to be surrounded by nature.
I pair best with couples who seek adventure and give me their trust to capture the moments of their day. I want to capture the wind in your hair, the way your hand reaches for your partner when no one is looking and the way you laugh together. I don’t want to be just another vendor on your list, I will be by your side all day and I want to be friends! I love what I do and I pour myself into my craft. I only take on 10 weddings a year so I can provide a unique experience and be fully present for your unique day. I would be honored to join you !
"I have been following Flora's work for awhile, so when it came time to book a wedding photographer, I knew I wanted to work with her. You would think after knowing her work that I wouldn't be so blown away by how beautiful the images were; but I was! She is easy to work with and made me feel so comfortable! I highly recommend her to any newly engaged couple on the Central Coast (and beyond!)"

Cordero and Malina are locals to Monterey California and are high school sweet hearts. They have been married for a year and wanted to capture their love in a more intimate way post wedding. Initially I had really wanted to have them on a rock surrounded by the ocean; as tides changed the rock was quickly covered and I was so grateful that Cordero and Malina were up for just jumping in!!
Ali and John were visiting Big Sur from San Diego as a couple after being separated by deployments for many months. They have a son at home but really needed a reset to connect with each other. They decided to save the last day of their trip for an adventure down the PNW with me! From some beautiful Big Sur caves and remote beaches with cliff overlooks I truly feel like Big Sur still has some hidden local locations.
Kait and Matt decided to elope in Big Sur after the wedding planning in Virginia became overwhelming. They started to feel like they were planning a day for everyone else instead of celebrating their love. After seeing photos of Big Sur Kait and Matt knew immediately this was the place.
Kacie and Sammie joined me on a dark and stormy day on the Big Sur coast to capture their engagement session. Sammy brought her best dad jokes and Kacie kept Sammy warm with lots of hugs. We explored the coast with an adventure session to two different locations and lots of fog! Growing up in Big Sur I think this has been one of the foggiest summers I can remember and I have no complaints about it.
Josh and Alissa were married this past week in San Francisco among their closest friends and family. Alissa saw all her friends who had big weddings and determined that was not for her. The day before her ceremony she had a backyard party at her friends house downtown complete with a Donut table made by a friend. But on her elopement day she only wanted 5 close friends and family.
Micha and Christy’s ceremony was at The Amphitheatre of the redwoods at Pema Osel Ling retreat in the Watsonville mountains. Surrounded by giant redwoods and overlooking beautiful canyons they said their vows in front of their closest friends. Christy hula hooped and Micha lost the cup challenge and it was a day full of tears and laughter and I felt so honored to be there!
Today I am excited to be hiking in Big Sur with some friends just for fun! I love finding new spots just to sit and enjoy. I’ll be bringing my favorite type of canned sangria, my camera, a large bag of queso chips and a big coat because the afternoon’s have been SO chilly here lately. While shooting this fun engagement session at the beach I could barley feel my fingers clicking the shutter. Meghan and Micheal were such troopers they jumped in the freezing cold water and stood on rocks with wind ripping through their hair without complaining once. Meghan and Micheal are highschool sweet hearts and are getting married later this year in LA. I was so happy to be a part of their engagement photos! I will be shooting another wedding later this year at Big Sur Bakery and I cant wait to shoot their couples images at this beach.
