International Wedding Photographer of The Year Top Finalist

I was so honored to have 4 images chosen in the top finalist categories for the International Wedding Photographer of The Year 2022.
thank you to my clients, for your trust and patience in my endless “ok one more!” So many of these images were moments of unplanned or last-minute changes with couples who were just happy to be together in a beautiful place; in the wind, in the cold, in the fog, in a damp cave.

The first photo nominated was Kevin and Kendall in the beautiful meadow in Big Sur. Their day was misty and cold and this spot wasn’t even on their timeline. While I was driving to their Airbnb I saw it and instantly knew we had to stop on their way back. We had to cut another location off their timeline completely but I was so grateful they were so joyful and happy to be there with me, they were up for anything.

The second photo with Gabrielle and Corey was a finalist in the “ day after” category. They were married in Atlanta but still wanted to exchange vows again on the cliffs of Big Sur. We had an all-day experience and Big Sur showed us all her weather. From crazy wind to sun and fog all within 6 hours. But I will never forget Gabrielle’s absolute JOY at getting to be with Corey in such a magical place. She couldn’t contain her laughter as the wind whipped her dress all around her. She was present and it made all the difference in her experience and her photos!

The third photo with the horses was nominated as a finalist in the “ Couples portrait” category. This day in Wyoming was COLD. I mean freezing. We woke up at sunrise about 5 am and waited for about 30 min in the freezing cold for the horses to run through the pasture. It was one of the coolest moments of my career and I’m so grateful that Vanessa and Jim braved the cold.

The final photo in the cave; was so much fun to create. This is a highly edited image and was a finalist in the “ epic locations” category. This day was again COLD and Misty but I knew the cave needed some light, so in photoshop, I added some light rays and Breanna and Collin enjoyed their first dance in an epic cave.
