Monterey Family photographer // The Rogers Family Monterey, CA
The Rogers family met me in Monterey, California for their family beach holiday session. They have lived locally for the last few years but are soon moving and wanted to make sure they captured their family in the coastal setting before they left. The lighting couldn’t have been better, the wind was picking up which added so much beauty and movement to their session. Andy did such a good job picking out her family’s outfits! I always send a style guide but love it when moms choose long gowns that add romance to their images. My photography focus with families is always on intimate un-posed moments, I love capturing the way Andy looked at her kiddos and the way Paul looked at Andy. I like to think the kiddos will look back on these images and remember the way their parents held their hands, loved each other, and made everyone laugh.
I’m a Super 8mm lover. There is nothing like those flickering frames and overscan vibes. I own a Braun Nizo that I've used for personal and wedding work. But man, $200 per roll is tough. So to say I've been waiting for something like the Fuji Instax Mini Evo Cinema is an understatement. I’ll be comparing the mini Instax Mimi cinema, the camp snap, and my traditional Braun Nizo. Disclaimer: nothing is beating the original, but we are using it for comparison. I will be updating this blog as I use the camera more, but I wanted to get my initial impressions up and out to you.
