Big Sur, California Photography Session
I met Kristen when both of our oldest kiddos were in preschool, she was the one mom there with me early at drop off waiting for the doors to open ( my kids have always been early risers). So when she told me she had friends who had access to their own private beach in Big Sur I practically begged to take their family photos there. I have taken family photos here in the past but only for people who are able to get access. It’s really funny to imagine for people out of town, but most locals are trying to find non-beach locations most of the time. I think we take for granted the beautiful California Coast we live on. Fun fact they drove the wrong way across this bridge in “Big Little Lies” (the HBO show that was filmed here) when they were dropping their kids off at school. I had so much fun on this adventure session with Kristen, Chris, Tyson, and Cohen.
I’m a Super 8mm lover. There is nothing like those flickering frames and overscan vibes. I own a Braun Nizo that I've used for personal and wedding work. But man, $200 per roll is tough. So to say I've been waiting for something like the Fuji Instax Mini Evo Cinema is an understatement. I’ll be comparing the mini Instax Mimi cinema, the camp snap, and my traditional Braun Nizo. Disclaimer: nothing is beating the original, but we are using it for comparison. I will be updating this blog as I use the camera more, but I wanted to get my initial impressions up and out to you.
