Marlena and Fred's California Adventure Elopement

Marlena and Fred had the most beautiful Big Sur elopement day. From getting ready at La Playa Carmel to their 6 hour adventure down the coast I felt so honored to be a part of their day. Most people think of elopements as just two people but they come in all sizes! Marlena and Fred decided to include both their parents in the beginning of their day and then adventure together for the rest of it. We started in the redwoods, followed by an adventure on a rocky beach shore. Marlena really wanted to surprise Fred with a picnic set up at the second beach location of the day and it was so cute to see his surprise! They enjoyed a charcuterie board and chocolates from Alta and Little Luna cheese board that Michelle from Forage vintage rentals set up for them.

Marlena and Fred really wanted to read their vows privately at a cliff edge and so our last stop of the day was one of my favorite cliff side stops and I had so much capturing the last light as they promised each other forever.

a little bit about Marlena and Fred in their own words:

Where did you two meet?

We met a club in Hollywood. I was there with a friend for a birthday party and Fred was with his friend who liked the club scene. He found me in a sea of people on the dance floor and the rest is history!

  1. When did you know he/she was THE one?

I was obsessed from the moment I laid my eyes on him!

  2. Why did you decide to elope?

The thought of a planning a wedding is overwhelming. We've been together for so long (10+ years) and finally decided this is the year to get married. I don't want to wait to anymore, and coronavirus isn't helping any.

  3. Why did you choose Big Sur, have you been here before?

We visited Big Sur for my birthday one year and Fred made it so special. He's a very thoughtful and romantic guy. He gave me a ring, pearl earrings, and a beautiful ruby necklace in the most special and surprising way.
