10 Unforgettable Activities to do during your Big Sur Elopement or Couples Session

There’s nothing like genuinely doing an activity you love with the person you love. I really encourage couples to think outside the box and make their elopement or couples sessions unique and fun to them! I would love if each one of my couples could pick one or two items from this list or come up with their own! When clients can make their day unique or different and do an activity together, the session becomes more like a documentary than a photo session.

  1. Fly kites! With the wind in Big Sur, working together to get a kite in the air can be so fun ( and allow real moments as you run to try to get it up).

  2. Have a picnic, include your favorite board game! Feed each other pizza and laugh over a game of Scrabble!

  3. Bring your vintage camera, and take turns taking photos of one another! I also love a vintage Super 8 . Bring a Walkman or CD player. Bring headphones so you can listen together as you cuddle on the beach.

  4. Visit Asilomar and rent a vintage bike! This is easier in some outfits than others, and Big Sur Beaches are not conducive to this, but Pacific Grove has great hard hard-packed beaches that are just hard enough to make this work with some effort.

  5. Rent a kayak or a SUP paddleboard. This is again only available in Pacific Grove, but so fun to head to Lover’s Point and do a session in your bathing suits. There’s a fun pier in Pacific Grove that you can jump off. https://adventuresbythesea.com/lovers-point/kayak-rental/ ask for the Lovers Point location!

  6. Love books? Visit the Henry Miller Library, and find your favorite books! It’s such a fun stop along the drive!

  7. Conclude your day with a bonfire! There’s only a few beaches that still allow them, one being Asilomar in Pacific Grove. Nothing like making S’mores or your favorite drink as the sun sets.

  8. Stop for ice cream on your way to the beach in Pacific Grove, Collette’s has a fun red tiled wall to share your cone. There’s also a few vintage record stores and Pop and Hiss in Pacific Grove that are such a fun place to stop in and grab a cocktail and look at their record collection!

  9. Rent a vintage car and cut your cake on top of the hood!!!

  10. Go for a private boat tour in Monterey! Take a picnic and look for sea otters, whales, and seals for the afternoon!

    2-Hour Private Special

Bella on the Bay's 2-hour sail is perfect for couples and or family and friends, to get away and enjoy a private, intimate, and unique way of sailing on the Monterey Bay Sanctuary. It’s enough time to get an exhilarating sail, spend time with the wildlife, when it's in our area, and still enjoy some amazing coastline on the way out or in to the harbor. If you want something special and exciting without the crowds and agenda found on the commercial boats, then Bella on the Bay is your ticket. Bella is a larger sailing yacht that typically gets 6 to 7 miles out to sea, weather permitting, of course, so that on the 2-hour sail, they always have a 50/50 shot of seeing all the wildlife that the Sanctuary has to offer. Bring your own Champagne, Wine, Beer, Snacks, and Music to enjoy on your trip. Bella on the Bay has all the wine glasses, plates, utensils, refrigerator, and things you may need for your goodies. Breathtaking coastline and lots of amazing marine life year-round to enjoy. Bella has plenty of extra jackets, blankets and pillows to keep you warm and cozy. The best times for sailing are midday to the early afternoon when the wind, seas, and weather are at their BEST! Book your private adventure today by calling Captain Christian at 818-822-2390 or email to check availability.

Cost $495.00 includes up to 6 guests.
